In association with Members First Credit union, we operate a Savers’ scheme in our school. The Savers Scheme is where children can bring their savings into school on Thursdays and the collection and recording is facilitated by the Parents’ Association. This teaches children about the value of money from an early age as they watch their balance grow in their own personal Saver Account.
The key element of this process is not how much they save; it’s developing the habit of saving small amounts on a regular basis which will help to put them on the road to financial security for the future.
