Our School

St. Nicholas of Myra NS is a small vibrant primary school located in Kinsealy, North Co. Dublin.  We are situated on the Malahide Road, in the former green belt between Malahide, Portmarnock and Balgriffin.

A small country school in the midst of suburbia.

The school is very fortunate to be built on a large site.  To the rear of our playground, we have a field which is surrounded by natural hedgerow and planted with fruit trees.  This gives the children plenty of freedom to run around, explore nature and have plenty of old fashioned simple fun.  It is also home to our GAA pitch, and is fully equipped with goal posts which are an asset to the school during the Spring and Summer months.

We currently have 210 children on roll, with 8 classes from Junior Infants to 6th Class.  We also have 3 resource teachers and 4 SNA's.

The school has many IT resources. Each classroom is equipped with an interactive whiteboard with online access.

We have a class set of the latest iPads which all classes are using for various curriculum activities, particularly in the core subjects of English and Maths. In addition, they are used to educate and promote safety online.

There are extra-curricular activities carried out in the school after hours, including art, music and sport. These clubs are a great deal of fun and give the children the opportunity learn new skills and make new friends.

Our History

The school takes its name from the St. Nicholas of Myra who is the patron saint of children. St. Nicholas of Myra National School (known locally as Kinsealy National School) was initially located in the hall beside St Nicholas of Myra Church, but as the school population grew, it was relocated to its present site in 1952.  We are proud of our history in the community and delighted to welcome children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren of past pupils.
